Jakarta, Bertempat di Hotel Royal Kuningan 2-3 Juni 2014 Direktur Klinik Hukum PPOTODA Syahrul Sajidin bertindak selaku delegasi dalam Konferensi Nasional KBB 2014. Kegiatan dimaksud terselenggara dengan latar belakang bahwa di Indonesia terdapat keragaman agama dan keyakinan yang telah disadari dan mencapai konsensus dalam pendirian negara.
Sejak awal, Undang-Undang Dasar (UUD) 1945 telah menjamin hak kebebasan beragama, juga menyatakan bahwa ”Negara berdasar atas Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa”.
Hal tersebut memberikan batasan hubungan agama dengan negara. Yaitu negara Indonesia tidak akan didasarkan kepada suatu agama tertentu, namun menyatakan keyakinan kepada adanya Tuhan.
Dan untuk mengikat keberagaman untuk mencapai tujuan negara, Indonesia diikat dengan semboyan Bhineka Tunggal Ika.
Syahrul dalam diskusi terbatas memaparkan terkait dengan hasil riset mengenai kebijakan dan regulasi pendirian Rumah Ibadah di Kota Malang.
Kegiatan ini terselenggara atas inisiasi The Indonesia Legal Resource Center (ILRC), LBH Jakarta, AWC Universitas Indonesia, CRCS Universitas Gajah Mada, Yayasan Cahaya Guru, Sejuk dan HiVOS, dan jejaring pemantau kebebasan beragama dan berkeyakinan memandang penting untuk mempertemukan berbagai pengalaman advokasi, perkembangan pengetahuan dan konsep hak kebebasan beragama/berkeyakinan, yang akan bermanfaat untuk menemukan dan membangun strategi baru gerakan hak kebebasan beragama/berkeyakinan, dalam satu acara bersama yaitu Konferensi Hak Kebebasan Beragama/Berkeyakinan dengan tema “Indonesia Tanpa Kebencian”.
